First Post - hoo ha!

So, I have yet to know whether Sam really wants to be a part of this or not. I'm sure I could talk her into it, in any case, I mean, I know it's a pretty big commitment to mother a pineapple baby, but it's definitely worth it. Why? Because this time next year-ish, we'll have our very own Sam-and-Katapples. That's right! Pineapple babies.

Let's get one thing straight: I was totally inspired by Deb and Alita, who's blog appears in the blog-link-section on the right hand side of this blog, and who are also proud pineapple parents. Their devotion and abilities to love are truly inspirational. One only needs to mention "Pineapple Babies" to have me welling up, tears pouring down my face.

Now, I'm not talking about these pineapple babies (also known as Green-Cheek Conures), even though they look very much like small, even, baby-like pineapples.

No, it wou
ld be more accurate to say that I'm talking about these pineapple babies!

Unfortunately, as you can see, these ones have lost their crowns
(the tops, with the leaves). Thankfully, though, there are three parts of a pineapple that can be planted, and despite that fact, we're just going to be working with the crowns.

Whoo! Happy pineapple times.

Now, we'll just have to wait and see if I can get Sam in on this action. Hopefully, I'll be able to, because frankly she's the only one within a 3000 mile radius that I trust with a Katapple. I've called her place of residence twice now. Once yesterday, and once today. Yesterday! She did not return my call, but I forgive her because, well, her little sister took the message. Today though, I shall call in the evening, when she returns from her vocation.

Excellent. I wish you all a good afternoon, and happy pineappling.

Kat, a hopeful and expectant mother-to-be of Samapple.
